I love visiting England and indulging in a bit of on the spot research for my stories. O n a recent trip, I spent some time in Devon and Dartmoor National Park, a wonderfully haunting spot that inspired Arthur Conan Doyle’s The Hound of the Baskervilles. I decided it was the perfect spot for Marquand Castle, where much of the action in The Spy Wore Silk takes place. Bovey Castle, a private home that is now a country manor hotel, served as inspiration for the duke’s estate. Here are some of the pictures I took.
