I love visiting
England and indulging in a bit of on the spot research for my
stories. O n a recent trip, I spent some time in Devon and Dartmoor
National Park, a wonderfully haunting spot that inspired Arthur
Conan Doyle’s The Hound of the Baskervilles. I decided it
was the perfect spot for Marquand Castle, where much of the action
in The Spy Wore Silk takes place. Bovey Castle, a private home
that is now a country manor hotel, served as inspiration for the
duke’s estate. Here are some of the pictures I took. (For
